Babes in Disneyland: Lost & Found

and wheelchairs find their way into Lost and Found, as well as things as expensive as Cartier watches and diamond rings.
What do I do if I lose something?
If you lose something while inside Disneyland, you can go to City Hall on Main Street and a Guest Relations host or hostess will be happy to call Lost and Found for you. Be sure to have as much information on the item as possible. You may also go straight to Lost and Found and inquire about your item. Lost and Found is located to the east of California Adventure’s main entrance.
If you realize you have lost something after you've left the park, call Disneyland and ask to speak with Lost and Found. Items are held for a month or longer! You would be surprised the items that are never claimed.
What types of items do they keep in Lost and Found?
They hold almost all items turned in, with the exception of baby bottles, pacifiers and sippy cups. Holding these items would just get too nasty. Anything that can turn in odor is typically tossed. If you lose a baby bottle, you can purchase a new one at the Baby Center.
Tips for Recovering Items
Disneyland Tour Guides (of which I was one) often help out in Lost and Found when staffing is tight. While I didn't work there full time, I did spend enough time there to know that the amount of items they receive in one day is nothing less than staggering. There are a few things you can do to make it easier for the Cast Members in Lost and Found to get your items back to you.
★Add distinguishing marks to large items like backpacks, strollers, soft-sided lunch sacks, etc. (A black backpack is hard to find, but a black backpack with a large orange ribbon and "I Love Duran Duran" button is easy to pick out of a crowd quickly!)
★Put address labels on everything possible. Lost and Found will mail you anything identified as yours--no matter what it is. Moreover, the address labels make it easier to identify on the spot. I also put my cell phone number on as much as possible. I figure there’s a greater chance they might call me while I’m still in the park if I misplace something.
★Label your children's jackets with their names or other distinguishing marks. Keep in mind my terrible mistakes--I’ve had two jackets stolen right out of my stroller!
Lost & Found
Hundreds of items are brought to the hosts and hostesses at the Disneyland Resort’s Lost and Found daily. Items range from merchandise to jewelry to cameras to park merchandise and beyond. When I worked there from time to time during my Disneyland tenure I saw things as large as ice chests
