Hollywood and Highland Center
The Hollywood and Highland Center is a retail and entertainment in the heart of Hollywood. It features the Kodak Theatre, home of of the Oscars; two nightclubs, countless retail shops; and is right next door to the famous Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Hollywood and Highland is located along the Hollywood Walk of Fame and across the street from the El Capitan Theatre. It also boasts the best view of the Hollywood sign in town. This is probably not the best destination for families with little ones, as there isn’t a whole lot for the little ones to do. There are some cool water features and the Disney Soda Fountain across the street, which could both be fun for kids. Overall, the entire area is pretty cool for adults. If you walk about a block from Hollywood and Highland, you’ll find Mel’s restaurant. The food is great and you can’t beat the vibe. Parking is located right off Highland Ave. It costs $2 for up to four hours with a validation from one of the shops, restaurants, or entertainment venues.
Before visiting the Hollywood and Highland area, make sure to sign up for the “Elephant Card” on Hollywood and Highland’s website. It has some pretty nice discounts on retail, dining and more. There’s even a discount for the Disney Soda Fountain! Note that it takes over a week to get your card, so do it well ahead of your trip.
